The 2017 Mekong Tourism Forum will be held in Luang Prabang June 6 – 9, 2017.

Hosted by Lao’s Ministry of Information, Culture, and Tourism, the forum features inspiring keynote addresses, networking sessions and free educational and interactive events, such as the Mekong Blogger MatchUp Boot Camp, the Mekong Innovative Startup Tourism Summit (MIST), and the Mekong Tourism Forum.

This year, Luang Prabang itself is the venue, as opposed to expensive and inaccessible conference centres.

Under the theme of “Prosper with Purpose”, MTF 2017 focuses on the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS)’s exciting tourism opportunities and how best to increase sustainable investment.

The aim of MTF is to connect the public and private sectors to boost cross-sector collaboration and debate on key issues pertaining to the marketing of GMS as a single tourism destination.

In addition, MTF 2017 will stage beautiful evening functions and informative technical tours in a destination that is ranked as one of the most beautiful towns in the world.
