The 2017 Mekong Tourism Forum will set the agenda for future developments in Southeast Asia’s travel and tourism industries, with attendees set to descend on Luang Prabang for four days of events starting on 6 June 2017.

The three-decade old forum will now be free of charge for all tourism professionals. Events will feature inspiring keynote speeches from a range of professionals on topics varying from niche markets and human capital development to responsible tourism and digital marketing.

Speakers will include Vongdavone Vongxayarath, head of tourism promotion and marketing for Luang Prabang province, Joseph Cusmano, Oman Air country manager for Thailand, and Jerome Trichard, CEO of Mekong Cruises.

On top of speeches, participants can take advantage of various networking opportunities, interactive educational events and light cultural events such as Eat, Dance & Play – A Lao Triathlon, hosted by Khiri Travel.

All events will focus on opportunities in the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) for sustainable tourism development under the theme “Prosper with Purpose.”

The event seeks to connect the private and public sectors in an environment of collaboration and constructive debate. Hosted in one of the most beautiful towns in the world, it will not disappoint.
